Tell us a little bit about your book(s) and yourself.
My book is called “Inspiration in Action: A Woman’s Guide to
Happiness. It’s called a woman’s guide because it has been my guide. The
information in the book is for anyone interested in having more, doing more and
being more in their life.
The book includes eight principles that when put into
practice will help to remove the barriers that prevent us from receiving what
we want. The adventure of writing the book really started in earnest after
reading “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne and ‘The Law of Attraction” by Michael
Losier. I wanted to understand why we humans have so many challenges around
happiness and getting what we want.
I’ve learned that what we “think” we want isn’t always what we really want. I’ve learned that happiness is an inside job and nobody else and no thing can make us happy in a sustained manner. I’ve also learned that we have some barriers that often prevent us from receiving.
I am a broadcaster with over 35 years of experience working in both radio and television. I am a communicator and I consider it an honour now to be sharing these important messages with people. I have always loved my work but this just takes the cake.

When was your first book published?
My first book was self-published in April, 2012.
Are you currently working on anything?
Since the book came out, I have been teaching a weekend workshop called The Course in Happiness, based on the principles in the book. I also conduct a one day course called Finding Your Courage/ Vision Boards. I do public speaking engagements with diverse audiences, sharing my story and the lessons in my book.
My second book is starting to take shape in my head….soon on paper.
Why did you decide to become an Author?
I love books. I love learning. I had an important message to share.
Who and what inspired you to write?
All of the teachers who brought me to this point in my life: my parents who were my best teachers; my high school English teacher, Sister Rosalina at Queen of Angels Academy who believed I had a gift and wanted me to believe too. Oprah Winfrey who despite her fear just did it and now shares important messages with thousands of people and is changing our world. Dr. Wayne Dyer, whose gentle voice I can hear in my imagination encouraging me along this path. The women in the research group I conducted for 21 months while developing the principles in the book. They gave power to the ideas and supported my dream. I think I returned the favour.
When you are writing to you like to listen to music? What is on your playlist?
I write in silence only sounds of nature…that’s a pretty incredible playlist if you ask me.
Who is your favorite character in your books?
My favourite character is the person reading the book.
What is your favorite book of all time?
My favourite book of all time is Christain Larson’s Optimist Creed, written in 1926.
