Happy Halloween!
What are your plans this year for Halloween? As my daughter is still in a kindergarten that is alternate days she will be home all day with me tomorrow. With the weather forecast being rainy we have planned a day filled with Halloween themes - reading, crafts and maybe some spooky baking! Then hopefully after dinner the weather will be nice enough to get out Trick or Treating. My daughter is a Zombie Princess (or that is what is says she wants, it'll depend on if she lets me paint her face) and my son is a Skeleton! I will post some pictures for next weeks Wordless Wednesday.
This year we have a couple new books on our reading list! Last year we checked out a few younger titles from Thomas Allen & Sons Ltd. that may interest you if you have toddlers. These new titles are for 4+.
Trick or Treat by Leo Landry - “The last day of October had finally arrived. The empty house at the end of the street mysteriously came to life.” Oliver, the ghost who lives in that empty house, lives for Halloween! He always has a big party. To get ready, he puts dust on the furniture, welcomes the spiders, wakes up the black cats, and delivers his invitations! This time, though, one envelope goes astray and two human trick-or-treaters show up. Are treats—or tricks—in order? Simple, cartoonish watercolor and pencil illustrations complement this sweet tale of the spirit of generosity and acceptance.
