With Halloween only a few days away my kids have been bugging to make some Halloween treats. Today was a PA day at school and we decided it was the prefect day to pull out this fun little pack that we received from Kellogg's this month.
Use the original recipe for Rice Krispie squares and then instead of using a baking dish, use a cookie sheet or wax paper. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters that have been coated with margarine or cooking spray.
Rice Krispie Squares
50 mL | 1/4 cup | margarine or butter |
250 g | 1 pkg | (about 40) regular marshmallows or 5 cups miniature |
2 mL | 1/2 tsp | vanilla extract (optional) |
1.5 L | 6 cups | RICE KRISPIES* cereal |
Preparation
- Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla. Stir in KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal until well coated. Using lightly buttered spatula, press into buttered 3.5 L (13 x 9") pan.
- Allow mixture to cool. Cut into bars. Best if served same day.
Happy Halloween!
