Are you a Battleship fan?

Looking for a movie to go see this weekend? Why not check out the new Battleship movie that is based on the original Hasbro board game. I have seen the trailer and can't wait to get some time to head out to see it.
If you have children like us that are not quite at the age to see the movie but love ships and navy type things you will want to check out the new toy line from Hasbro!

We had the opportunity to check out a few of the new Battleship items that came in a great big box similar to the Avenger box but this one has a fire button! It actually sounds when you push the button. A great box to store all the fun Battleship sets I am sure my son will be asking for.

First is item in the box is the new Classic Battleship - Movie edition game (available May 2012)

This game is based on the motion picture Battleship. There is a twist to the original game with game cards that allow the players to fire out complete columns of coordinates, force your opponent to reveal un-hit coordinates and fire as many shots as you have ships. Choose to command the navy or alien fleet while using these new op cards. The game is lots of fun and is recommended for ages 7+. I love that they came in a nice plastic cases and are easy to transport - think rainy camp days this summer!

What my son and hubby were really excited about was the new line of KRE-O Battleship! If you haven't heard of KRE-O it is a building block type toys. Great for children who love to build and explore with their imagination. The Battleship line includes 8 different products. Some are available in May 2012 and more being released in Fall 2012!

The boys made the KRE-O BATTLESHIP ALIEN STRIKE set. This set is made up of an alien war ship and includes KREON figures of aliens and navy men. The set includes 277 bricks, attack boat, and four figures. It took the boys a couple days to put it together in the evenings and my son loves it. The one complaint from both of them is that is comes apart easy. Which for my son is very frustrating, other than that he loves it and plays out a battle with the figures. I have thought of crazy gluing the pieces and we may just do that because boys are not "gentle" with toys especially when they are playing fighter toys and games.

This retails for $34.99 and is recommended for ages 7+

The KRE-O BATTLESHIP U.S.S MISSION set includes 545 pieces and five KREON figures. It is huge and I know both hubby and my son will have a blast with this set. It spans 21.5" long, featuring a double barrel missile launchers, a deloyable attack boat with gunner station and single fire rocket launchers. It has a Captain's navigation tower, a central control room and maximum security alien prison and much more. Includes Admiral Shane and Naval fighter KREON figures to command. It will be hours of fun!

This set retails for $79.99 and is recommended for ages 8+.
