AVEDA Institute Hair School Scholarship Video Contest

Aveda Institute is having a hair school video contest to win a scholarship to Aveda Institute. There are 5 scholarship being awarded, one in each of the following cities - Winnipeg, Toronto, Calgary, Victoria and Vancouver. The Submissions for the videos are close and now the judging will take place. The winners will be announced in May 2012!

Haven't heard of a AVEDA Institute?  Aveda Institute is a top hair school that takes creative and talented individuals and turns out a a rock star hair stylists. They are not your average run of the mill hairdressers or barbers they are pros that will work with the best that grace the covers and editorial pages of the world's biggest and best fashion magazines!


There are some very talented ladies and gentleman showcasing why they should be part of Aveda - a greener kind of styling. Very fitting as I am working on a greener life, what better way then look to greener products for our hair and body?

How is the judging done for these awesome contest? Well right now a great panel of judges are picking five (from each city) of the most aspiring people from their videos, they will then be expected to compete in a Hair Showdown. In a live head-to-head competition and runway show these finalist will complete a look in front of a panel of style experts and hairstyling heavy hitters. The winner - one from each city will be awarded a FULL scholarship to the Aveda Institute Hair school.

What will the finalist be judged on?

• Boldness and clarity of artistic vision
• Originality and creativity
• Demonstrates candidate is fashion forward and understands the Aveda mission
• Overall Impression

I have watched many of the great videos and here are a few of my top picks! I wish all the ladies luck and hope to see them as finalist in the Aveda Institute hair school video contest.
