We don't eat ribs at home as hubby doesn't like the price for the amount of meat and well I didn't have a clue how to cook them right. Hubby hunts every year in the fall with his family and got a deer, when the meat got made we ended up with ribs even though the request was for no ribs. Oh well, so they sat in the freezer forever!
I did a review and giveaway for Crock-Pot over on Canadian Coupon Mom last fall and part of the review was this wonderful Cookbook from Crock-Pot. I am hoping to try out a lot of the great looking recipes that are in this book. You can find a copy at Chapters for $12.99 with the link below.
Best-Ever Barbequed Ribs
Serves 6
Ingredients:
1 tsp paprika or smoked paprika1tsp salt
1 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp ground red pepper
3 to 3 1/2 lbs well-trimmed pork baby back ribs, cut into 4-rib pieces
1/4 cup ketchup
2 Tbsp packed dark brown sugar
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp soy sauce
Directions:
Coat Crock-Pot slow cooker with cooking spray. Combine paprika, salt, thyme, black pepper and red pepper; rub mixture onto meaty sides of ribs. Place ribs in slow cooker. Cover; cook on Low 7 to 8 hours or on High 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until ribs are tender. (my slow cooker seems to cook very hot so it didn't take 7 hours I believe it was about 5 1/2 or so, watch your meat closer to the end).
