Back to School with GoGo Bags Review & Giveaway!

One big source of litter during the school year are kids lunches. Everything from the sandwich bags to individually wrapped snacks. Some schools also have a policy for no garbage lunch. This really makes us think of ways to pack lunches without waste. If not I know you will receive a very yucky lunch bag if you send in yogurt/puddings etc.

A great way to reduce waste are containers and reusable lunch/snack bags. Last year my son went with reusable containers. This was a bit of a challenge as the kids need to be able to open their own lunch without help. We played around with containers at home and in store to see which ones P could do on his own.

Just recently I have been introduced to a great reusable product to send in kids lunch. They are reusable snack and sandwich bags along with a bag for cutlery. GoGo Bags are Canadian Made by an everyday Mom, who like all of us want a safe way to store her children's food.

The bags are made of 100% cotton and are washer and dryer (low) safe. The insides are also made from 100% cotton and is safe for food. The feature a fold over closure which make the bags long lasting.

Freshness? Yes, these little baggies keep all kinds of food fresh from sandwiches, apples slices to even crackers. Sandwiches stay fresh not soggy and do not dry out. Fruits and veggies stay fresh up to 2 days with crackers and nuts up to 5 days! I am excited to try them out with a new peanut-free trail mix snack (post on its way!)

Ease of Use? Very easy, they are fold over which help even the smallest toddler be able to get into their snack bags. Great to send with kids that have a hard time with containers. Also I love that they are not bulky, they will not take up so much room in your kids lunch bag. The bags can be machine washed and dried in the dryer on low heat. If you are not doing a load of laundry that day you can hand wash and hang to dry. They are very easy to wash. I would likely suggest a couple sets.

Fun Fact: Using only one reusable bag potentially can eliminate the waste of an average of 1000 plastic bags and can save you more than $40 in its lifetime. They make seem expensive at first but if you think about the waste and how much plastic sandwich bags are, they are actually not bad price. They are Eco-friendly and safe for your family.

Buy it: You can order GoGo bags through their website, you can also email Anahita for custom orders if you would like a logo or a bigger size.

Our thoughts: I am very excited to send my kids to school with GoGo Bags. I love anything Eco-friendly, safe and convenient. These bags after inspection and use are very well made. The stitching holds great and the thickness was more than I expected. I love that they are made by a mother/daughter duo and are Canadian made! The are very easy to clean, I have thrown them in the wash and have also washed them by hand when doing my dishes. I find it more convenient by hand as I don't wash laundry every day. I also love the patterns, they are fun and bright.
